Nasyr I feel you man, that shit sucks. I hope that the results were just botched and everything will be okay. Depression can cause you so much shit that it isn't even okay. If you ever wanna talk about it let me know.

Don't ever use anti-depressants, they make it a lot more worse.

I just want to point out they aren't supposed to fix you, they're supposed to help stabilize you. They do help, there's just so many of them out there that some don't work for people while another one will. You have to experiment a lot usually before you can find the right one, which is usually what will harm you as some of the ones you take before hand may have bad side effects. ie. The doctors put me on something when I was in the mental hospital that would cause all of the muscles in my body to tighten and continue tightening uncontrollably until I received a shot, it didn't help at all with my mood but it physically put me through hell. I couldn't move, breathe or even speak when that was happening. But when I got out my family doctor put me on something that helped quite a bit, after a while I stopped taking it as it wasn't doing anything for me since I was already 'stabilized.'

So, it's a matter of experimenting to find which medicine fits your body best.

What Faded said. Antidepressants only harm you In the end

Usuay Doctors don't know how much of the drug is in each bottle, so one pill in one bottle could have the same dosage as 3 pills in one bottle. Use the stronger bottle first, get a refill, and feel like one pill isn't working anymore. It makes the person using them EXTREMELY unstable.

I've lost great friends due to them freaking out at me for no reason... Never go on them. For your own good.

Where are you getting that information from, since that is completely wrong. The Doctors prescribe you a DOSAGE, which is pill count based mgs. They start you off on a small dosage then work your way up to where you feel like you are doing better, if that specific medicine works for you. A legitimate Doctor will never give you something they are unsure about the contents of, they are literally staking their practitioners license if they do that. Antidepressants don't harm you if you are taking the one best suited for your body and taking them PROPERLY. Misuse is what causes harm. People think it doesn't work so they'll take multiple pills which can go lethally over your dosage, or they think it's working so they stop taking the medicine.

They will only make you 'happy' temporarily. I have a class in psychology and the teacher explained that you are guaranteed to lose more than actually gain from them.

As somebody who has been on several different ones it's true what you are saying. You begin to rely on them and your mood changes so much that you basically begin to feel like a different person.

Does your teacher have a degree in medicine? Has your teacher also explained the fact that things may not work because you mentally condition yourself for them to not work, such is happening with more and more people because everyone says that the medicine doesn't work. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. They aren't supposed to MAKE you "happy" for a lengthened period of time, they are supposed to help you help yourself. If you begin to become dependent on it, then that's when a problem ensues. Explain what more is to be 'lost' than 'gained' while taking the medication?

This is something I talked in depth with my medical psychologist (psychologist who has went to medical school and can prescribe medicine, not just listen to bitching), about this and he and I both came to the conclusion. The only problem with the medicine is if you are taking the wrong one, if you aren't taking it, you take it too much or if you become dependent.

Which ones did you take? Your mood is supposed to elevate, but you're not supposed to feel like a different person, but to a state before the 'depression kicked in.'

The first three antidepressants I was prescribed didn't work, so my doctor prescribed me something that will help ease my anxiety as well as help with my depression. That one helped a lot, on top of my separate pills for anxiety. They have different types of antidepressants to top it off. If you end up having to get put on an antidepressant again, try telling your doctor exactly which ones you've taken, as well as to give a dosage that's strong enough to help but not strong enough to cause an addiction/reliance.

I'll be honest with you they changed that much that I cannot remember, last ones were Sertraline 200mg per day if I recall right.

lol she does actually, medicine and psychology. Don't know what the exact terms are.
Also you should try reading for once, I never said they don't work, but most of the time they're worse than better.

Again, that's only since most of the time it won't' work for you. There's too many out there and they each are made differently, so different people react differently to them.
