I usually only do it to try out software with no restrictions. If I use it enough within a 90 day period, since most 30 day trials are either not long enough or too restrictive on features, then I buy it.

I only do it when there is usually no demo or trial version of stuff. I strongly believe on try before you buy/subscribe. However I completely think it shitty if you like something and you don't end up buying it. Everything has value and if it gives you the value your looking for you should invest.

I think that it's good for demo purposes, because most demos of software or forum scripts don't last long at all. Some people need more time to get a feel for the software, and to figure out if they want to purchase it for themselves or not. I also think some software is a bit overpriced for what they have out of the box if I'm being honest.

I don't encourage piracy but I see it as an alternative solution. If you have the money to buy the products but you decide to pirate them that's uncool!

That question is a slippery slope. I try to stay away from pirated stuff, but at the same time I see why people may use or obtain them. I find that greed of a corporation or business will make me feel like giving them a taste of their own medicine.

Piracy would generally be considered an immoral action to anyone but the generally immoral (commies). You are using unlicensed intellectual property, however its not a very bad offense for the individual, more so for the distributors. As an individual generally pirates due to the otherwise inability to access whatever content which can generate revenue that might otherwise be lost with future content, the distributor is the one enabling massive losses.

i pirate games but will purchase them if really enjoyed them. i'm not poor but not rich either but i think there are more times where i've bought a game because i enjoyed it because of this. if i never pirated the game, i would never have known it was worth my money.

Depends on the type. Programs because the software is usually disgustingly priced (take photoshop for example) or games to try them before deciding to buy to support the creators / get constant updates & fixes. I think pirating is a very useful thing, I see it as a way for less fortunate people to have the same access as some of the more well-off people.

Depends on the situation. For me it's either try before I buy, or I want to make sure the software/download is worth the price. You can't always tell what use you can get out of something at face value, or if it lives up to its own description. I like the "name your price" payment structure for digi-downloads.
