I'm not super educated on this subject so figured I'd turn to the forum. I'm in the process of being about ready to host my Gmod DarkRP server and have a few questions.
1. Can I host it on a VPS instead of paying for a server hosting provider? Isn't that basically what they are doing besides automating it with a Control Panel? Is one better or cheaper than the other? They charge you per slot from what I've researched server hosting wise.
2. Is it sustainable to host the server off my PC and the connection won't be horrible? Assuming I'd have to run my PC 24/7 though which I'm not looking to do really..

If you are having a VPS server, I wouldn't recommend it as like having a lot of mods or plugins or even players. It depends on it, if you want to go big you need to have big server.
