Do you think that Java should be discontinued to leave Bedrock?

Java is a huge platform, for example, hypixel averages around 100,000 players, even reaching 200,000 at times, I don't think mojang will do that, as many minecraft youtubers will get very angry about it.

No it shouldn't. It gets more players than bedrock and just looking at it, when people say I play minecraft they usually refer to the java edition. It's more popular though it gets microsoft less money cuz skins/maps are free. Not to mention the modding community that makes thousands of mods for it.

Java all the way. I wasn't even able to install the Bedrock Ray Tracing beta on my kids account (he's 8) so we could test it on our new 3080. How in the world is 8 too young for Minecraft. Thanks Microsoft. If it were available on the Java platform without Microsoft's involvement, life would be a lot easier.

Sorry to say that, but Bedrock edition is absolutely crap. The in-game purchases doesn't fit in Minecraft. It's absolutely absurd that you have to pay for skins or texture packs, they aren't that good. Plus, the server system is crap, the mod support doesn't exist. Minecraft Java is a lot better.

Wsit, why Java should be discontinued? Then again I guess the fan would pickup it and then develop it further themselves.

No way, there is still so much fun to be had on Java so there is no reason to discontinue it.

I think it's a wrong move imo. They should keep the support until we will find a new solution.
