2292 hours here and I can confirm this game is still fun. Give it a go.

The game is fun, allows for great creativity, and has a good community.
Actually, scratch that last comment about the community, it's very split between the 6-year-olds and the genuinely nice people.

You should play it with friends. Playing it alone can be fun, but it's amazing when you play with your mates. Try custom gamemodes, browse the workshop for addons you might like and try them out on singleplayer. The possibilities are endless!

Garry's mode is a really fukin' funny game. It's a SandBox where you can do anything you want.

Is anyone still playing that game? Like are there still servers with some users?

It really depends what you want to do in the game,
Garry's mod is a sandbox game but it can be developed and turned into much more, for example
sandbox is where you can play with other people and servers or by yourself and mess around building what ever you want, it could be something serious like an un-raid ablebase or something for example a flying cock.

But then there are more serious roleplay's where you have to follow orders , i generally would recomened to test them all to check them out and see what you prefer.

If you enjoy an open world sandbox with an unlimited variety of game modes, it's for you.

It's realy fun, you should play this because its full of gamemodes interesting and fun
