Peter stated his mother was from Earth in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Why did he not know what Earth was when Iron Man mentioned it in Infinity War?

i think he knows what earth is but everything he knows about earth is from the 70's, so everything they say relating to earth he just doesn't get
