#1 First to post about this on nulled hopefully. If you're interested in gaming you probably have Steam. They just released the beta client (which I will provide an invite link to). They redid the entire chat box and modernized it, aswell as the new interface they have introduced group chats. You can invite friends to group chats with an invite code (they added discord to steam pretty much) and you can make chat rooms similar to discord within the server. You upload a server icon. Finally, they redid the voice chat and made the audio much crisper and of high quality. If you're interested in this or want to learnmore click the link below.

A bunch of other stuff about it:
Side notes:
- NO MORE GRABBING IPS OFF STEAM CALLS! They redid them and made not just the audio better but the security, you no longer communicate between your ips and steam serves as a middleman, they also made voice chat encrypted.
- You can only invite people to the steam group chats if they also have the beta client installed.

#2 Meh, don't think I'll even bother with the new UI. Rather use Metro for Steam with some unofficial patch.

#3 I think it looks great I always hated how ugly steam looked and just used metro but I think this is a good start for them to make it look better

Same obviously metro isn't updated for this beta version but I always had to use it because steam ugly afbut now I'm sticking with the default (even if there was metro for steam available for beta)

#5 Steam had started to feel very outdated, this is a step in a much needed direction imo

Not necessarily a bad thing. Discord is great and it could help make Steam better.

Welcome to the real world, where people copy others.
It's competition. Steam wants more users to stay in-house rather than going to Discord for discussing.
And you can't lie, Discord has a pretty good layout. It's only natural that Steam would try and use a similar one.
It's like with video games. Take Dark Souls for example. After Dark Souls went insanely popular, developers have copied it's formula to make their own games, some games that are just as good as Dark Souls.

I personally don'tlike the way discord works (split of text and voice channels etc.). I'mmore the Teamspeak guy so I also don'tlike the new steam chat update.
But just my opinion
