[TF2] What do you look for in a server?

Hey y'all, as the thread title suggests, what do you look for in a server?

I've been trying to start TF2 servers for some time now in a community I'm in, but all I can seem to manage to get populated are MVM.

Well, trade servers usually track a lot of people. Try to getthose free taunt plugins, they're very popular too.
Just make the server fun overall, I guess.

Pubs are the only thing my friend and I play. If you run something as simple as a 12v12 on 128 tick with simple moderation and a half-decent anti-cheat (cus VAC sucks), you might get more people in. Also include a map pool and map vote of the community favorite maps!
