FYI, me and my family sometimes go to cosplay conventions and doing anime marathon. They are a bitweeb too. But mine was a lil a bit to much compared to them. xD

Never used it because of the phone number requirement. The main appeal of it for me would be the security, so I just Tox, XMPP, or something else instead for private discussions. For the not so private ones I use Discord or IRC.
