hey folks,

So I recently was looking for a new rig and was wondering if these specs were good:
CPU: i7-8700K
GPU: GTX 1070
RAM: 32 GB
HDD: 1 TB
SSD: 256GB
PSU: TX 950

SSD needs to be 1 TB. Dont really need 32 gigs of ram unless your pc is a drafting computer

This is very true. Only useful for Video editing and 3D Rendering.

Dunno why people are just saying RAM is the overkill part, I doubt all that would equate to using 950 Watts from that PSU. You can probably cut it down to 850 or (maybe) 750.
RAM is defo overkill as well, but it really depends what you're doing.
Even the CPU, I guess it's really good but it seriously depends what you're doing.

If you're using this for >muh gayms, then you might actually be retarded.
Also I hope you don't install your OS to that SSD.

Overall the build looks like it will be a powerful machine. The 32gb of ram is excess if it's only for gaming and the money you could save from getting 16gb ram instead might upgrade you to a 1080 but idk you shopping list and prices.

Depending on what you are trying to do 32gb of ram seems a bit overkill. If you are just gaming 16gb would be fine. If you are editing videos and such alot then it would make more sense but it seems a bit overkill

Thanks for all the replies guys, I decided to go down to 16gb of ram and upgrade the ssd to a 1tb. Was planning to use 32gb of ram to load all my music vsts (side hobby) but found that I don't even touch that side often Tongue

thanks for the help everyone :D

SSD 256 is a bit low yes.

Prefer SSHD like firecuda (cheap) and very fast Wink got 2x2tb.

Others settings are fine.

SSD 512 would be nice, but tbh you can always have the games you play on the SSD and once you complete them remove them or move them to a slower, larger HDD.
Why would you need to have 1TB of data on quick access, makes no sense...

Only 256 GB SSD?
For me it's to low. ^^
