I'm planning to start a new server with my friend so I need tips about managing a game server. I will probably focus on Gmod but you can give tips about any game server. It would help me a lot. Thanks!

If its not fun for you it's fun for no one
If you arent committed to actually making it fun dont bother
If you genuinely can't do the very basics of gmod server management don't bother

well i wouldn't recommend starting a server(gmod) first you need to pay for server hosting, THEN you need to buy the addons and if you want a good server you need a lot of addons, you also need to be very good with lua, and gmod basics then you also need have basic knowledge of ULX, Once You Have Done All That You Need To Blacklist/Whitelist All Of The Props You Dont Want Players to Use(Whitelist Is Better) You Also Need An AntiCheat To Stop Cheaters And you need to make sure people try and donate to keep the server running, you need to make a website for your server, maybe a discord or a teamspeak...

if you do not have the money, knowledge of lua, patience and tolerance you cannot make a good server, thats why most gmod server owners quit!

but go for it if you want to i believe in you! that you could make one Smile

I'm currently trying to make a gmod server, but just for my friends. I don't have much knowledge on how to do it. But I think it's fairly possible, just don't expect to get it right the first time.
