Upgrade Subscriptions

Well, this thought has come to my mind so I said why not suggest it?
I think members should be able to subscribe for an upgrade perk for a specific amount of time depending on how much credits and what is the perk.
It will not just make people able to feel what it feels like to be upgraded and then give them thoughts about upgrading, but it will also raise the forum's activity because members will more likely start posting more and more to earn credits to subscribe for a perk.

Here's an example:-

1 week subscriptions:-
Prime - 1,500 credits.
Supreme - 5,000 credits.

1 month subscriptions:-
Prime - 6,000 credits.
Supreme - 20,000 credits.

I wouldnt give anyone supreme with credits but prime i agree.

As much as this may be beneficial to those who cannot afford or do not want to spend their money on forum upgrades, it beats the purpose of having upgrades.

Selling upgrades is a way for NulledBB to earn some cash for expenses such as domain renewals, hosting, etc, and probably personal expenses of the people running the site. As a bonus for helping NBB, upgraded members get cool perks depending on the amount they have given. Aside from that, credits cannot be purchased and are just earned by forum activities or betting. It also cannot be exchanged or converted to actual/digital currency. Therefore, credits do not have any real life value. Not to mention this may cause a possible rise of spam and LQ posts for the sake of credits. NBB will be at the losing end if they allow the exchanging of credits for upgrades.

Though, subscriptions may be good if it includes actual money. Say, $1 for a month of Prime subscription. This will be a win-win for the members as well as NBB peeps. $1 looks cheaper (not in the long run) so it will be more appealing to non-upgraded members. Aside from that, if a member chooses to keep subscribing per month for the whole year that will give NulledBB $12 for a whole year compared to a one-time, lifetime $6 Prime upgrade.

Just my 10 cents.

This is a semi-good idea.

However it just means a user could be super active for a few weeks and then completely rip all of our content in a matter of minutes.

People won't do that whilst it costs money, as they're essentially paying to get banned.

So I think the principle of it could maybe work, but there would need to be a limit to their accounts or something.

I prefer paying real money, as Stoic says it helps towards real running costs of servers, and won't produce a mass load of spam posts to keep credits up.

So maybe if it's just a discount code or something you can buy? Get 20% off your next upgrade or whatever for X number of credits.

Whole point in buying upgrades is to support the site and helping bring new content... all you're doing here is giving BACK the credits that you earned from the site itself. Nothing is actually coming from you. And like Harry said, it allows you to rip off everything we have in a matter of minutes. I disagree with this idea.
