TF2 dev team doesn't have a choice - valve are shutting down all opskins bots on the 21'st.
Basically, opskins can't trade any steam items after the 21'st, so withdraw all your skins if you have any on the site.

By tf2 I don't mean OPSkins. I mean sites like Mp.tf and Scrap.tf which actually help the community stay alive.

But that's so stupid, how are they gonna make any sort of gain? It's only gonna make the small amount of people who are still playing not want to play even more.

I honestly hate this idea. It's extremely selfish that they would be taking down one of the biggest and easiest ways for traders to get started. And it's not like they never made profits from op skins as they would've needed to get the keys. I really hope the tf2 dev team doesn't make the same decision towards this.

Because sites like op skins bypass some of Valves policies. Not to mention that they're losing out on money on every trade. Valve has less control over the market and items as well.
What kind of company wouldn't stop a site like that existing?

I'm sure that them losing the tiny amount of profit is less than the large amount of money they're going to lose now since nobody are going to want to buy keys.

So csgois really going to die because valve decidedto take down Op skins and that was basicallywere people sold skins for real cash but now skins are going to become cheaper since people won't want them anymore like collectors. If you guys watch anomalylook at his video.

I highly doubt the game will die due to valve taking OPSkins down. Most players probably won't even notice or care and the ones who do probably are not gonna stop playing the game due to this.

It's also image thing tho.. If they don't do this they are basicallysaying hey its ok to do this which could spark even more of these sites starting...

Taking a site down because it offers a cheaper price and people use it more than your actual market is a scummy thing to do.

If it is getting taken down for other reasons for breaking Steams ToS then I'm not aware of it.

Little bit? Steam takes 5-10% from every transaction on their market platform. There are a few million transactions per day, that's a lot of money.
Do you really think that people will stop trading Steam items just because their favourite trading site goes down, no way. That's pretty much throwing your money away.

It'll be a lot more discouraging for people to be able to begin trading though, since buying keys from the community is such a hassle and having to wait 7 days for keys that cost more than they should is going to ruin the experience of trading.

It's simply rumors at this point, however here's the concept:
If you made money from a game, do you want other people profiting from it? Why would you? Wouldn't you want all those profits?

There's PLENTY of examples of this (Including Minecraft: Hacked Clients, Custom JARS, etc.)

rumors? :dquestion:

Valve surely cares about how discouraged you are! The point is, you'll have to use Valve's system in the end, while they make more money than before.
I understand why it sucks, but if you look at it from a company's perspective, you'll understand that it makes sense to do it.

Not to mention, they put in the cooldown system to combat scams, are you telling Valve to stop caring about their users, wow Zenith!
As you can see, they can use the cooldown part of PR as well : )
