lol, im super inefficient and use vim to edit c++. visual studio has a pretty good setup though

Vim for the most part. If I need something more robust I'd open up Intellij

brackets is a good option for code editing, it's free, it's worth trying

It totally depends on what I'm editing - PyCharm, WebStorm, Notepad++ are all faves.

Suggest you take a look also at SlickEdit. It's meant primarily as a coder's editor and includes templates for a variety of languages. I use it mostly to record/execute macros. Quite easy and fast!

you should checkout sublime. i use it for like everyday. it's doing a nice job and can probably do more than what i'm using it for.

sublime is so immature hence the reason n++ is the best program for editing

To write program i use CodeBlock and Visual Studio.
For editing files notepad++ and HEX edit.

There's a reason why Visual Studio Code is the top choice of many programmers. It's the best free editor, just give it a try and you won't go back.

If you're going to work with PHP just remember to install the PHP extensions.

brackets has a lot of plugins and resources to make writing code operative process
