I use VS Code for front-end work (JavaScript, React, plain ol' HTML). It's slick and responsive with a plethora of plugins. I liked GitHub's Atom, but I had a lot of issues with it lagging and crashing.

For back-end, I use a lot of JetBrains products. RubyMine for Ruby, PHPStorm for PHP, IDEA for Java. But if I'm just editing a couple lines, I'll boot up VS Code.

I do a lot o react and node coding so I use vs code. I know the other editors can do it but VS Code is a beast. plus its fast and its extensions are second to none.

Used to use Atom, but it's just too slow for me. Takes over a second to load up, and if I have it open for like an hour or two, it starts to really eat up all my memory and slow down til it's running at like 0.1FPS and I can't even see myself typing in realtime. Then I need to restart (god forbid forcing it to close) and lose my train of thought.

Now I'm using Sublime 3, and the interface is sleek and does exactly what I need it to do, edit text Smile

Also, installed VSCode. Looks like a good alternative, haven't used it much though.
