I use Sublime Text 2 + the Emmet plugin for coding anything serious, such as websites or software. I also use Notepad++ for fun.

Visual Studio Code because it's portable, for Windows and MacOS. Also, like addons.

mostly notepad++ and for some tasks eclipse tried some others but meh

I really like PHPStorm. It's got a steep learning curve though and almost has too many features, so you gotta kind of build your own flow. The best part is that you can search for ANYTHING in the editor, even settings. Like you just describe what you want to change and boom you can get a setting to change it. However, I only use this for local dev because it deleted a file when I using remote FTP :( That's just way too risky for me... so I use Atom for remote FTP web dev (which I do a lot for small projects or projects where its not worth having a separate dev server).

I'm using Sublime Text 3, i think it's beautiful and smooth for me to code.

I like sublime or jetbrains for bigger projects. Atom is pretty good but takes time to load up for me

visual studio code is insane! its have a lot of plugins to use and make easier to code
