What do you do to calm down when mad?

I honestly, don't get mad very often, but I always have someone to talk to about my feelings, whether that be my girlfriend or whatever I always try and get it out before releasing it in a violent way.

I play my bass guitar or solve puzzles! They are calming because it takes my focus elsewhere!

Step back and reflect then see what I can do better to keep my cool. It can help sometimes but others you just cant.

I usually try to do something useful, like tidy up - it brings me peace. Have you guys read any Jordan Peterson?

For me i always want to punch something and that calms me down, i also thought about getting a punching bag just for this lol.

I ask myself the question: is this going to matter in 10 minutes? 1 hour? 1 day? If the answer is no, there's no reason to waste your energy and think about the unpleasant experience.

I usually just hit someone that is breakable so i don't bust my hands. Making beats is my new method of getting calm, and it's really helpful.

Drive around on the farm we have here in the Netherlands, also while blasting some dutch rap.

Listen to sad music and cry, then watch youtube videos :/
