I used to love kpop, the music itself its amazing but the fandom after 2019ish got soooo toxic. i had twitter arguments with random people about charts and fanwars that drained me mentally so i HAD to get out.

K-Pop, short for Korean Pop music, is a vibrant and diverse genre that has gained immense popularity worldwide. Here are some aspects that contribute to its global appeal:

Production Quality: K-Pop is known for its high production values in both music and music videos. The industry invests heavily in creating visually stunning videos and meticulously produced tracks.

Choreography: One of the standout features of K-Pop is its intricate and synchronized dance routines. Performances are often as important as the music itself, and groups spend countless hours perfecting their choreography.

Idol System: K-Pop idols are trained rigorously, sometimes for years, in singing, dancing, and other performance skills. This system produces highly skilled entertainers who are versatile and polished.

Variety of Genres: While it's known for its catchy pop tunes, K-Pop encompasses a wide range of genres, including hip-hop, R&B, EDM, and rock. This diversity helps it reach a broad audience.

Engagement with Fans: K-Pop artists and groups have a strong connection with their fans, known as "fandoms." They often engage with fans through social media, fan meetings, and interactive content, fostering a loyal and dedicated following.

Fashion and Aesthetics: K-Pop is also a trendsetter in fashion and style. Idols often wear unique and fashionable outfits that influence global fashion trends.

Global Influence: K-Pop has a significant global presence, with groups like BTS, BLACKPINK, and EXO breaking into international markets and collaborating with Western artists. The genre's global influence is evident in its large international fanbase and frequent appearances on global music charts.

Overall, K-Pop's blend of high-energy music, captivating performances, and strong fan engagement has solidified its place as a dominant force in the global music industry.

Has become mainstream to the point, less koreans actually consume kpop, and it's starting to get marketed for a worldwide audience more than the locals.
