It all depends what you're after, I suppose it's safer but there are just as illegal thing in this forum. It's the morals rather than what is more illegal.

Most of it is fake and I honestly think its just romanticized and overrated

bad idea to get there. tons of spying from national agencies and not much you cant get in regular websites

The dark web isn't actually as scary as most people would lead you to believe. The problem is that most people don't actually understand how to take the safety precautions necessary to make sure that the average person won't be able to find you. Just run the dark web in an isolated environment so that even if anyone gets into your network, it's not going past the compromised system.
