You can win plenty of games and still not rank up, you can win a game and actually de-rank.

Factors =

what ranks did you play against
what was your score /points against these ranks
how many games in a row did you win

if you win 5 games ina row and you dropped a 50 bomb every game then you will rank up probably, if you win 5 in a row and bottom frag then you wont rank up

by the way, people ranks now are more of a true representation of what your real rank is. After the change to the system ranks were destroyed, people at DMG were ranked up to global as an example. silver ranks had literally no one. now the ranks are alot better and more of a true representation of your skill. It will still need months to correctly pan out though
