In my opinion OneShot, Undertale and Cave Story are pretty good. But if I have to pick, I would pick Undertale because of the play time and completely different endings. The music is also beautifully composed. Just because only one person programmed this whole game (well it was just Game Maker Studio, but whatever)and composed ALL of the music is just fascinating. But enough about my opinions. Let's hear yours!

(also, notice this is my first post on this forum! yay!)

not exactly 8-bit, moreso 16 / 32 bit, but Starbound is absolutely one of the best modern pixel games every made, and the soundtrack is extremely ambient and perfect. beautiful art style, as well!

Monkey Island

Wait, is that 8-bit stylized, or is it pixel art?

The best 8-bit style game, huh? I think Nidhogg was a really fun party game for it's low bit graphics. It's a endless fun too with friends.
