I am trying to look for a decent spec for a gaming desktop, but want to know what I'd need for a decent gaming desktop if I were to build one myself, for under $500.00

The spec's don't have to be all that great, If it works right. I play Perfect World International, and Second Life. So it has to be able to play both those games on Medium Graphic Settings.
I had a desktop back in 2008 that could play both on medium but i dont have that computer anymore unfortunately.

I was thinking of saving up money for next year; so I can buy one from Walmart; for a higher price with decent spec's but ya know how walmart is with their crappy spec's computers. eh!

A Core 2 Duo would be a nice processor, but I would need specs for everything else.

Slightly over budget, but would provide excellent performance, and upgrade paths for the future.

price is decent for the computer spec's and well worth it.
I'll buy individually and build it myself since I know how too.

Also this prices are from my country, so not sure if the price will be the same in yours.

Not bad, I'd get a 4GB 1050ti tho, my cousin had some trouble on Battlefield 1 and PUBG with a 2GB card.

That would increase the budget by ~$30-$40.
And the games the OP mentioned aren't that vram intensive.

He could get a 1050 ti, but it wouldn't benefit him if those are the main games he plays.
