What is the best free anti virus?

I personally just run avast and malwarebytes free versions and I never have any trouble with viruses.

i used to use avg but it was in my face all the time and "free updates" all the time so i switched to malware bytes which i have had a brilliant experience with

malwarebytes free is decent
doesn't have realtime protection though
you can always pirate ;?

My subscription for AVG currently ran out, anyone have ideas on what free anti-virus system i can use till i buy a proper one?

defently avira, not avast or so, i think avira ist the best, for my side, idk if anyone has avira too?

Avira relies solely on its signatures at this point.
They are very lacking in terms of modern protection against threats such as ransomware.
Not to mention their "new" update didn't change anything on the protection side, and was merely a half ass interface redesign that didn't even change the design for the whole program leaving the settings panel with the old design.

Avast in my opinion is the best for anti-virus so i would go with that.

WindowsDefender is good for windows users. Only antivirus that I'm familiar with.
