What is the best gaming animation software out there?

I'm really considering learning animation. I want to design my own characters and tell my own story and then make video games from the characters and story line. What is the best advice someone can give me to get started with this? I'm looking to get into 3d animation.

You can use blender for the beginning. Its very beginner friendly and you can learn the basics for modeling

Any of the Adobe products with tools from autodesk if you want to do 3D!

Adobe flash is a pretty good tool, normally used for 2d animation though and not 3d.
