Some certificate authorities such as Let's Encrypt and Cloudflare's COMODO Universal SSL have been giving it free of charge and has no cost. But I am curious about the difference of the paid SSL certs like Digicert or others.

Can you please explain this to me? Or what security they can provide if we choose a paid or a free one?

Both offer the same level of security, the private key is private regardless of whether you use your own or a shared certificate.

however, some paid certificates offer a warranty if the security of their certificate were to be broken. some also have different renewal periods. EV or extended validation certificates also have the name of the company or whatever in the address bar but read up on this:https://scotthelme.co.uk/are-ev-certificates-worth-the-paper-theyre-written-on/

There is no real difference. Let's encrypt is a trusted authority as much as anyone else. Security is the same, but you will have to renew the certificate every 3 months. There are utilities that can do that for you automatically depending on your host.

A paid one will guarantee you a safe certificate and any damages will be covered to an extend. Depending on how much you paid, insurance can reach up to 1 million dollar I believe.

Just go with a free one, you do not need to pay for an SSL certificate. It will not make your site any more secure.

There is basically less diffrenece. but some paid ssl offers greater gurantee of security. but to me letsencrypt is good enough to encrypt traffic between your website and visitor. just tthat you have to renew them every 90 days i guess.

Free certificates offer no warranty. Paid one provide a higher level of trust and usually come with warranty!

Free certificates (cloudflare ssl certificate) are usually shared. It also uses 20 different domains. But if you buy you are given a private private key. And this protection will only be exclusive to you. If you run a high quality forum site or project I prefer to be special to you.
