What is the gmod core setting?

Is gmod is working with multicore or single core can someone tell me ?

I myself do not understand, 8 cores, but on maps 30-60 fps.

You can make GMod work on one core or multiple just by running a command in the console. I believe if you do these commands you get multi-threads for rendering, but on some machines it is slower and some it is faster it just depends on your hardware.
