Grand Theft Auto 5 has by far the best open world experience for me - Red Dead Redemption 2 would be close, if it wasn't for some awkward gameplay design choices that make it feel clunky.

Nothing has even come close to GTA 5.

Runner up would be Genshin Impact, a great open world with *enough* things to do inside it, although it's not even close to Rockstar's world design.

Rdr2 is the best OPEN WORLD. I always play it.

Definetly GTA V. I've been playing it with my buddies since almost the first month it came out and we still play together all the time. Sadly GTA 6 will never come out though.
