What makes death note a great anime

The thing that made Death Note so special and great to people was how it gives off a vibe different from normal animes. Death Note didn't rely on fasted paced fight scenes or action sequences it relied on intelligent and engaging characters and the suspense generated from the cat and mouse game shown throughout the series between Light and L or Light and Near/Mello.

Light is the most unique shonen MC in anime. Light transition of Light from a intelligent, kind, and hardworking student to a sociopathic and manipulative man with a god complex is genius.

Death note is on of my favorite anime which is filled withsupernatural, psychological, action and drama.I did never consider an anime good without fight but after watching death note I realized that fighting isn't necessary and I'm not gonna spoil but I would say it was a master piece and if L finished the game of light then it would be considered as the greatest anime ever. There are also some similar anime like death note i suggest you guys to watch them

I thought the first half was good, but the second hand dips so hard in quality

its all about the build up. a death is a death but the hour preceding it? thats where you make yr shit good

The best thing in DN was unpredictable moments and how light have changed is series

I think the first 24 episodes are fantastic with pacing and tension, but after the you now who are introduced I really got bored.

Its face paced and forces you to pay attention to small details! Also high replay value

the characters will jump on the screen up and then down and I will then clap my hands in joy-

I feel like it's very overhyped and that it's regarded as good only because it's really well known and a lot of people watched it as their first anime.

It's probably one of the best thrillers I've seen in anime. They knew how to build up suspense, and the payoffs were great every single time. Did lose steam when Near entered the picture though.
