What makes death note a great anime

it has a wonderful storyline i think that makes it the perfect anime

Yesterday I walked with the dog in a pink hat in the evening and the gopnik hit me damn

The soundtrack is great which add a lot to the tension, also that Light act like a villain when he is the main character makes you feel like he doesn't have a plot armor and him losing is pretty possible. Characters and story too are pretty good.

The duality between Light and L. We lost that later when N was introduced. Which is probably why so many people hated it afterwards.

the script is for me the best of anime

The thing that made Death Note so special and great to people was how it gives off a vibe different from normal animes. Death Note didn't rely on fasted paced fight scenes or action sequences it relied on intelligent and engaging characters and the suspense generated from the cat and mouse game shown throughout the series between Light and L or Light and Near/Mello.

Light is the most unique shonen MC in anime. Light transition of Light from a intelligent, kind, and hardworking student to a sociopathic and manipulative man with a god complex is genius.

i like the writing a lot its pretty fun and was my first mystery anime

soundtrack, the writing is pretty good but can be weird at times and its just like a different vibe from other animes

death note is very good in my opinion because there are not much psycological thriller anime's out there
