What programming language to start with?

mate id recommend visual basic lol its crap but there is build in ui design n that.

Python, Java/C#. I'm currently going to school for computer programming. Haven't learned a whole lot yet but before that I learned Java. It's pretty much the same syntax as C# so it's easy as hell to follow if you start wanting to learn C#. I haven't used Python personally but I've heard its great to start with.

Python is pretty easy to get into if you're a beginner. But like one of the reply above I started with visual basic as well haha

Probably easy languages to start, are those which manage memory and datatypes for you, so python, java . I started with visual basic back then, but I would not advice you to do the same This language is not widely use, which is also an important aspect.

I started with C++ and advanced into PAWN which is used very rarely in games like CS:S source mod etc.

Yes, you can start with Python (python 3x, because older ones arent programming language at all, is scripting).
But it depends on what do you want to do. For portability, Python or Perl are your best option.
Y you look for a low-level programming language you can choose C and its derivate, C++.

I think you can start with any language, but Phyton is a very recommend language to start. But at example I started with C#
