I haven't played minecraft in a year let alone modded minecraft, what modpacks do you guys recommend I check out that I can play with my friends. I want something long term that we wont finish in a few days.

Sky Factor 3 is very good mod, You can have fun with this mod by playing alone.

if you really want a great modpack to play with friends then you should try
The 1.7.10 pack its a really GREAT MOD and its still getting updated you can download it on technic launcher
