What's the deal with Dogecoin?

Hype thanks to Elon Musk, not much else to tell there.

It doesn't have a use case except being the first crypto created as a joke, if that counts? Maybe not since it's not supreme in any way.

As BTC, store of value? Lol

It's a bit different from BTC and many other crypto currencies because of it's supply is constantly inflating. The Doge supply inflates by up to 5 billion per year. That's not a huge amount considering there are already around 128 billion in circulation, but it still means that the supply is ever-growing, while Bitcoin has a hard limit on how many BTC can ever exist (and we've almost hit that limit).

It's all a bubble that will burst. Bitcoin is the way to go

Elon Musk is the biggest leader of the dogecoin and cause of him and his tweets about dogecoin , This cryptoCurrency has the highest pumping in price I think this crypto has a good future in price cause it's unlimited and can be mine easily!

It's really a meme, well, crypto in general is kind of a meme rn but doge more so.

It's a complete meme, don't listen to people like Elon Musk that are shilling it. I think he is doing that because he wants to support Crypto without taking a serious public position behind it for alternative/political reasons.

Short answer for those looking to this thread for a "should I buy it" answer: don't buy it. It was made as a joke, and people were buying it up in order to increase the value non-organically. But it's not a great coin (it doesn't have a lot of great features) and it really doesn't have any value beyond the joke itself.

Dogecoin became popular after Elon Musk's tweet, but at least for now I don't see much potential in it.
