Hello! I was looking around the release section, and I came across the retail version.

But my question is simple, what exactly is the difference between retail and nulled version?

Are they both illegal/legal?

Retail is when it's acquired legally. Nulled is basically when it's cracked or ripped from another website.

You can guess what type of forums this is Wink
yeah

False. Even getting an illegal retailed version is well, guess, illegal. I doubt any "Retail Themes" on here were bought.

Here is my definition.

Nulled means that license function is either disabled or edited in a way that license function is bypassed, thus being able to use the software to the fullest without any cost being involved.

Retail means that it is directly from the vendor, and is not modified. Which means that license functions, other functions are not disabled, and license should be provided in order for the software to function.

Just be aware, some nulled software, scripts contain backdoors or malicious codes that steals users' sensitive information. Only download from the person / place you trust.

What should I get retail or nulled? If I get retail, is it a highly more likely chance that I won't be detected as a nuller?

Retail means its a clean file from the retail place. If the addon does not have any callback features to the server or code that goes back. You don't have to modify (Null) it to work.

Nulled means that license function is either disabled or edited in a way that license function is bypassed, any and all callbacks to the vendor are removed, = free without paying out money

Retail means that it is directly from the vendor, not modified, requires a license, serial or url of some kind, all callbacks/copyright in tact. = Money is involved to purchase such an item usually

Retail = Original version without any modifications, directly received from the creator.
Nulled = Removed licensing or bypass licensing, sometimes code modifications, removed callbacks ect

It always depends on the script you're using. If you're just using a HTML template, it doesn't matter if you're using a retail version, because they don't have callbacks. For scripts, it's better to use a nulled version to be safe. (As long as your hosting allows it of course.) Like simdol8080 said, be sure to download nulled versions from places you trust.
