What would you do if you won $1,000,000?

Pay off student loans, pay off credit card debt, and pay off close family debt. Then, in all honesty, I would like to splurge a little. Maybe buy a new car, upgrade some things around the house, etc.
I'd use the remaining 800-900k to hire a financial aid to help me make wise investments in the stock market / buy shares.
While I wasn't investing I would spread the money across a few bank accounts (FDIC only insures 250k)

I've heard this before some times, I think one of the best answers was to get a hang on how to invest, either hire someone that can provide good investment plans or do research yourself. But if you have loans that are eating you up then it would be great to pay some of them off with that money.

First of all I'd buy my Dad a house as he is less fortunate. I'd help him get a car also. I'd then help pay off any loans my family members have then with any leftover money I have left I would buy Ben and Jerrys cookie dough ice cream.
