I've been building my own Gmod role play map on and off for a while now, and I was wondering what everyone else would like to see in a good roleplay map. So far i've planned out and/or built a few of the following:

- Slum Apartments & Houses
- Suburban Apartments & Houses
- A Mansion
- Downtown Offices
- A Shopping Mall with EmptyShops and a Food Court
- A Modern and Upbeat restaurant
- A Modernized MunicipalCenter (Town Hall/Nexus)
- Highrise/Modern Apartments
- Minimum of 2 Banks
- 3-4 Gas Stations
- Police HQ
- Firestation
- Hospital
- A Few Shopping Centres

Since GMOD updated the source limits for hammer back in February, I do believe I could pull of this map and then some as i've seen some really nice looking roleplay maps since its release. So please tell me what you'd like to see in your ideal roleplay map.

I tink you covered pretty much everything. But also

roads big enough for cars to fit comfortably on both sides
high sky box for freedom
good layout (for both houses and roads)

Chaos City is a really good map, but extremely underused.

Yes, my roads are designed to fit everybody comfortably, especially with the use of VCMOD (Lets face it, driving in VCMOD isn't the easiest.) As for the higher sky box, this would be great in theory for the use of helicopters and planes, however doing thiswould be tricky due optimization problems, because of the open style plan I have for my map. And I am trying to find a unique layout of the map, I am designing my map to utilize different socioeconomic areas.

And yes, While Chaos City is a really good and large map, I do believe it misses a few elements essential for roleplay.

Ah sun city, it is indeed a great map, however it issimilar to rp_chaoscity, as it uses a lot of buildings from others maps, most notably rp_florida by steinman, my map will be made from my own content. (With the exception of Textures and Models).

I think you should add :

-Underground Areas
-Hobo Town
-Night Club

Don't forget to optimize the map.

Can you elaborate on the underground areas and hobo town? And yes, a nightclub is planned.

I will optimize as best I can, however this is my first map of this size so it might still be buggy.

Yeah, with underground areas I mean sewers/tunnels and with hobo town I mean abandoned districts/parts of the map where hobos can live. Something like a law-less town.
