Core fundamentals of league:
1.Camera/mouse control.
2. Last hitting.
3. Skill placement.
4. Cooldown control.
5. Minimap

You have to master this in order to climb.

The best tip that I could give to a new LoL player? Simple. When you join a lobby, call which lane you would like to assume that role. If someone else calls it before you, give them respect and allow them to fulfill that position. Do not double up on a specific lane, other than the exception of bottom. You will piss off your whole team for 20min - 60min; guaranteed.
