Start looking at learning the linux operating system and also understanding windows and networking this will give you the basics you can also look at materials that are relative to the CompTIA+ exam and the Security+ exam and their resources, the internet is full of knowledge also youtube is helpful.

Internet is full of information but you should know what you are looking for, so reading about the different areas/sectors and picking a specific will help you. Cyber security is many things. I would suggest not to waste money on courses and learn the basics from the free ones or any live academic courses where you leave (this is the best option) . Don't start from tools and ready to use exploits, except if you want to do it for a hobby. For going pro you will need a good understanding on networking/internet, programming and operating systems to start.

If you don't have any prior experience with cs and no interest to do it for a living, I would suggest to not even start. It is a very cool skill to have but too time consuming.

There are better ways to spend your free time.

You start by getting worried about everything. You first because the law breaker then you become the protector of the realm.

get involved in some courses about WEB technologies, network security and basic understanding of it. What I personally did was to try to break my own systems. That way you learn by mistakes.

Go read up on Linux server security. A quick Google will help you out a lot.

you can self teach. get involved in the social media around the field you most enjoy and once you prove yourself as respectable you might get job offers even without formal education
