The most important antivirus issue for those of us who still use Windows 7 is to block the Windows Update Virus. Microsoft calls it a "Windows telemetry scan", but it basically spys on everything you do and reports everything back to Microoft while also slowing your machine down terrible. It's kb2952664 and if you haven't already you should uninstall it, block it using GWX Control Panel, and do your updates manually because if you set thing to automatic it'll keep reintalling itself every chance it gets.
