I'm building my own Computer and are ordering parts per week. However, it's coming to the GPU and I'm still stuck.

R9 390 or GTX 970 !?

Here is my build @ http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/BqmzVn

Any help is appreciated,

Cheers :yus:

If you are into overclocking, go for the GTX.
One great advantage of the 390 is the fact you get 8GB vRAM.

I don't think I'd ever really need 8GB as I'm not gonna be gaming in 4K etc?

If you're not going for 4K then it will be fine. But, newer games are resource hungry so look at that too.

Both are kinda the same in every other aspect and it comes down to personal preference between Nvidia and AMD.

I'll at most, be playing Battlefield Hardline and GTA V. Potentially BO3 also.

Other than that, it will be like CS:GO, Borderlands, Dead Island etc etc.

I'm right in saying that 4GB will suffice ?Smile

The 390 is meant for 1440p not 4k guys despite the 8GB Vram.
The fury series is meant for 4k.
Also, the 970 should be fine for 1080p, but if you ever plan to use 1440p then the 390 would be a better choice.

The 1080p should be adequate for me.
