From a strictly single company stand point, Apple probably has the largest percentage. I've used both platforms. Currently on IOS and want my android phone back. My Moto was running LineageOS. I miss having the moto gestures, and some root only options so bad. I do prefer the screen and camera on the iPhone, but use to many "dev" only options on my android that just aren't available.

Apple has built up their walled garden considerably, it would be quite tedious for a lot of users to switch, especially in the US

Apple is the iPhone company, you're going to see a lot of tech pundits spewing doom and gloom over the next few days now that Apple's most important, profitable product is no longer growing the way it used to.

But the iPhonee is far from in trouble.

Unless smartphones are suddenly replaced overnight by some magical new technology, the iPhone has a long, successful life ahead of it. It's not because of superior hardware. (Plenty of other phone makers have devices that can match the iPhone's specs.) It's not because of superior design. (I actually think Samsung leapfrogged Apple in design with last year's Galaxy S6 Edge.)

It's because of iOS.
