Why are horror movies sh*t today?

fairly simple actually, since we have watched a lot of horror movies we expect what is going to happen I guess... And directors aren't as creative anymore sadly..

Today the movie industry makes horror movies for the masses of people to buy and not to please themselves. Today the important thing is profit.

Too easy to predict nowadays, that's all. We have consumed so much media we now rarely get surprised anymore. A genre like horror who focus a lot on the element of surprise suffers a lot from this.

Why? Recently i saw some really nice decent horror movies/

I mean there are some good horror movies that do come out today however I agree, most are crappy and cheesy. It's because people have run out of ideas because mostly everything has been made up. It's like the video game industry, it's kinda going dry.

Because what we see and experience in our daily lives are getting so out of hand that society has learnt to numb themselves to cope. So more difficult to get the best reaction for producers nowadays.
