Why do people dislike minecraft

It's generally disliked because of the fact its mostly associated with children and it is just generally seen as sort of a childs game, it's a bit simple compared to other games as its just 3D blocks.

Like other people said, it was a really nice game. It WAS :(

Alot of people stopped playing it because of the 1.9+ combat system.

It's not the game itself that is the problem. It is the community that causes people to dislike it. Generalizing it what people normally do. It is the same with people say things such as "kids are really annoying in video games, they just whine and scream" while disregarding the fact that there are plenty of adults and teens who also do that and there are a lot of "kids" who don't. People claim things such as "the Minecraft community is filled with whiny kids" and don't stop to think that there are plenty of adults and teens who also enjoy it.

This again bottles down to what people severely lack these days, which is the ability to view a case from more than a single angle. They view it from their side and that is about it.

it gained fame to being a kids game

did enjoy it a few years ago. I ran a few servers and played a couple of tekkit servers. I got bored of the regular game and got addicted to building nuclear reactors.

It is a fun game but the fan base is figurative cancer

As others are saying, it is probably the fan base. However, I think another reason could be that lots of people who do say bad things about it are used to playing Xbox or Playstation, and Minecraft on console is terrible because all you can do is build really. (I hear Xbox have brought out some new features? But still) On PC, you have plugins and stuff which is what makes it a decent game, and most people start saying stuff about it before they even have a change to play it on PC.

I think its because of JavaScript and High usage of resources.
