Because lua+externals maybe triggered false bans. In 2014 facepunch disabled VAC DB

VAC is still used in garry's mod but its functionallity is VERY limited..

Garry's mod isnt exactly the best for VAC. This game isnt about stopping exploits its about making use out of the exploits.

It's not the most lua friendly, while its there its probably not as effective as other source games. However I think lots of cheaters still get caught out or they used to by garry's own sytem but that was a long time ago so I'm not up to date.

The Garry's Mod VAC system has been outdated for years, and it only detects two cheats.
Both of which do not work anymore.

because it allowes Scripts, the game is made by the community. They decide what to do. So if they want to make a server that allowes "Hacks" or something else. They can.
