Why is League of Legends so cancerous?

league of legends has lots of toxic players, but at least you can mute them

Can't control some people's idiocy with this unfortunately. Only thing they do is pull you down and affect gameplay. I think its mostly because people want to do better to rank up, but get so tilted when someone has a bad game. I know I've snapped before.

What i tend to do most of the time is when the chat starts to go in a bad direction, i just instantly mute everyone and rely on smart pings to finish the game. Better that than standing still and arguing

The game is not cancerous... it's people are the main problem in every server in existence

Games are long and if you are in team with bad player, time is wasted :D

When you start a match just type " /mute all " and then you'll only see pings from people, and wont have to see them being toxic. It's actually a really relaxing game when you just mute everyone and space out in your lane/jungle. I always play better that way too because then I can just think to myself and really focus on what I'm doing. -- At the end of the day its just toxic because its a team game and no one wants to admit that its their fault theyre stuck in low elo or that they lost a match (theres pretty much always a billion things you could have done better, and your decisions 5 minutes before can directly affect your teammates dying way later on in the match, etc)

Competitive games usually lead to a toxic behavior from people, who think they're better than everyone else at the game.
