I mean there are worse fonts, like Papyrus. Also comic sans was created to combat dyslexia

Simply. A lot of bad uses. There's no bad profesional fonts, there's a lot of bad uses. Font express too like colors or forms.

I think because there is no real use in todays aesthetes of the comic sans MS font.

it's the same reason people love to hate on nickelback - harmless and fun, even great if you consider the context, but ubiquitous and inescapable. then come the associations (comic sans = childish, nickelback also = childish, lol) and then the cultural backlash. comic sans is a great font for kids learning to read and people with dyslexia! nickelback really isn't a bad band and are extremely commercially successful! just one of those things that everyone loves to hate

people like to hate things and when that hate is directed at somthing innocuous, people think its innocent fun

Eh, Comic Sans is just... meh... (my inarticulate explanation lol)

to be honest i think the dyslexia defense is an excuse and a pretty bad one. i'm dyslexic and comic sans definitely doesn't help me anymore than times new roman does.

Just seen as a 'meme' font, kind of hard to ever recover from that
