Free to play games are always gonna stay active.

Take a look at Dota and TF2.
Many years have passed and they are still being updated.

Probably, its still got a massive playerbase. Its viewer count on twitch is decreasing but I think it's already cemented itself as one of those free to play pillars of gaming. Kinda like League of Legends or DOTA.

I think 2019 will be the downfall of fortnite, but as with other popular games like FNAF or Undertale, it will still have a fanbase
