Mainin is only profitable in large volumes and with cheap electricity.

There is a website called nicehash where you can calculate your possible earnings. But if you pay less than 0.10cenrs per KW and have good video card you can earn some nice passive cash. And if you still have warranty for your video card, go for it, as mining does not void warranty.

If you're going to try and mine bitcoin, I really suggest not with your main pc. It can really fuck it up.

It absolutely will affect your PC in the long-term, particularly your graphics card. Think of mining is overclocking your GPU - not something you want to do for hours on end.

Unless you're wanting to just dip your toes into the world of cryptocurrency mining, I would highly advise you do not use your everyday computer to mine cryptocurrency. Crypto mining is not profitable unless you don't pay for electricity or if you have well over $1,000 to spend on components upfront to build a powerful mining rig.

Find some free source of electricity (sun panels or windmills ) invest on batteries, buy a mining rig, AC and probably you will make some money out of it. But this days mining at a casual home/office its not profitable.
