Atheism itself isn't a religion, by definition it means you don't believe in a god. There are atheistic religions, and there are people who religiously follow atheism.

Theism is belief in a god, or multiple gods, so atheism is the opposite of that.

Since Atheism is the lack of religious beliefs, it is not a religion. It is exactly the opposite. I would consider it more of a mindset

isn't atheism the belief that there are no gods ?
so i guess it's not a religion

Atheism is the lack of religious belief. So no I wouldn't.

If you define religion by -"the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods." then atheism is far from being a religion

It is not, its totally the oposite, as the name implies its anty 'theism', theos, God.
literlly means anti any god

RE: Would you class Atheism a religion?

It technically is a religion because its a belief that there is no god

no because it really is just having no religion. Like I am no religion and I guess I am atheist cause an atheist doesn't have a belief they just aren't a religion. I personally don't believe in god but others are atheist and do. so idrk
