Would you recommend starting a Dark RP server or a TTT server on Garry's Mod?

I have been having a lot of trouble deciding between the two... Both of them seem great, but I am looking for generally the easiest one to handle and the one that will make people join.

The easiest to make by far is TTT, but a good DarkRP server will always pull people in.
If you know how to advertise your server, both will take you very far.

DarkRP is very saturated and it will be very difficult to maintain a stable playerbase as people join and leave. All great servers fall at some point.
TTT can be difficult to maintain a playerbase but if you have you and a couple friends on playing you will usually have others join and can start a playerbase like that.

i would say TTT. DarkRp is way over saturated and if your server doesnt stand out from others you wouldn't get anywhere

It's oversaturated indeed, however, I'm currently running a DarkRP server from home and it's always got players on. As long as you have something that puts you apart from other servers like a surplus of Addons, it is possible to stay afloat. It is very hard, however.
Advertising is also a must, with regular competitions to keep people coming online.

I recommend starting a TTT server and start doing a DarkRP server

Doing both is going to take to much time likely.
The TTT server is easier to make, and I would think that if he has time after creating that server, creating and working on a DarkRP after that.
If it's his first server that he's creating, I think that creating a TTT server, and then a DarkRP server would be better.

I think you should start with DarkRP, this is my opinion. I generally started with TTT, but after 5-15 hours of playing on this mode, I got bored.

DarkRP , will get bored of TTT way to fast, way more content & addons that you can add to darkrp aswell
