by far, it's a great game I think you'll enjoy. It's a strategic game and set it in medievaltimes. No need for a beefy PC. Play at your own pace.

First of all, World of Warcraft is an MMO based off the lore of Blizzard's older game Warcraft, which was a different style game similar to Age of Empires. WoW has new content out every year or three, and as of this date at least 2 more expansions are to be expected after the rocky predicitons before BfA was released.

I've been into WoW since WotLK came out. WotLK is based around a few decades (if I have the lore correct) after Warcraft II: Frozen Throne, which tells the story of how Arthas (a human prince) basically went crazy with dark magic (to put things super simple). This was before my teen years. I'm 22 now, and I still play the game off and on. The world is massive and immersive, and the Blizzard writers are normally decent about the storyline. The neat thing about WoW is you don't need to know anything about the Lore to play; if you do, it makes things more fun and you understand some of the jokes, or you are more amazed at some of the things like these hero NPCs following YOU in WoD. But knowing lore is not at all required.

Now, Blizzard is also very good about limiting abilities to work around pay-to-win. All their shop stuff is mostly cosmetic. You can boost characters to max level, but it doesn't give you gear, it only skips the leveling grind. All the good decent PVP gears takes a different currency than regular gear, so you can't use the WoW token work-around for "legally" buying gold. I've never bought gold, I only get mine from questing and dungeons and casual raids, and I have a pretty decent iLvl gear for someone who plays extremely casually (Last I checked was in upper 920s or low 930s, if I remember right).

Every single person I've actually had a conversation about WoW with, who has said they don't like the game yet hasn't tried it or played past level 20, has actually said they could see themselves playing it regularly after playing past 20. Once you get your mount and see the fun things you can do like Dungeons, its a really entertaining game. There is just so many things to do in it.
It rhymes with braille, not drool.

Civlary Medival Warfare in my modest opinion the funnest PvP game. Especially with mods. Pretty fun game, and you can nab it for a few bucks on g2a, or steam.
